Good Friends and Good Food: ¡Viva Milagro! Day of the Dead Dinner
Autumn is a time of reunion at Milagro. We reconnect with our artists and welcome back our audiences. And this fall, we cordially invite you, our family of Latino arts and culture lovers, to gather with us on Día de los muertos Nov. 1st for “¡Viva Milagro!” — a spirit-filled evening of friendship and fun.
Join us and we’ll lead you into our Zócalo, a space adjacent to our lobby café that has already demonstrated great potential as an exciting hub of our community. In many towns in Mexico, beginning with Mexico City, el zócalo refers to the main plaza, a central location where people gather to socialize, hear music, listen to political speeches and more. On Día de los muertos, in our emerging Zócalo, you’ll enjoy live music as you mingle among the candlelit ofrendas, Day of the Dead altars created by local Latino artists. Throughout the evening, you’ll have the chance to bid on a distinctive selection of Day of the Dead-inspired artwork created especially for the occasion.
The centerpiece of the evening, however, will be when you sit down with old friends and new acquaintances to enjoy a hearty meal filled with both traditional and exotic offerings. Over dinner, conversation will sparkle, whether you reminisce about your favorite Miracle shows or share in the anticipation of our upcoming season. You’ll enjoy camaraderie, friendship and goodwill. And it will quickly be apparent the reason you feel at home at Milagro: You’re among family, and El Centro Milagro is your home for the finest Latino arts and culture in the Northwest.
Please support your favorite theatre company and join us in raising a toast to the Miracle! Tickets are only $75 and must be purchased in advance. Seating is limited and the deadline to RSVP is Oct. 24. Purchase your tickets with a credit card online or by calling 503-236-7253; if you wish to pay with cash or check, stop by our offices weekdays 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. If you are unable to attend but wish to contribute to the Miracle, please make a tax-deductible donation online.
See you at Milagro!
