Meet our Miracle Interns!

You’ll spot them in our office, backstage, or in the control booth during performances. Our Miracle interns are a group of hard working, eager-to-learn young women who work behind the scenes on everything from research, costume design, to learning the ropes as stage managers! We thought it was time the rest of the Miracle family got to know these exceptional young women as well.
First up is Arielle. An English major at Reed College who was born in the Pacific Northwest but who grew up a long way from here on the Big Island of Hawaii. So how did she find the Miracle?! Arielle found her way to Milagro through Reed’s career services internship postings. Always wearing a beautiful smile, Arielle loves working on writing projects and research for our Artistic Director. She has an interest in creative writing and lucky for us Spanish! She hopes to one day be a world traveling writer but we think she will most likely return to Portland given that Portland has a place for everyone, “doesn’t matter how different you are.”
Susy: Any talents we might not be privy to yet?
Arielle: I can bake a mean cake (:
Susy: When not at the Miracle or in school what do you like to do?
Arielle: Write short stories and eat Thai food.
Next up is Adrienne. A Political Science / Theatre / Spanish major with a minor in Social Justice at PSU! Talk about an intern that can do it all! Adrienne most recently spent a year in Southern Spain perfecting her Spanish. She has participated in a variety of social service projects including work with the Sierra Service in California and Nevada, and whenever possible, she travels the world learning and giving her time to causes she believes in. She has experience working at PSU’s theatre costume shop and is working on Teatro Milagro’s costumes for their upcoming touring show B’aktun 13. A tap-dancer originally from Northern California, Adrienne is always ready to help and learn.
Susy: How did you find out about the Miracle Theatre?
Adrienne: I saw a show at the Miracle Theatre with my Spanish class.
Susy: What do you do on your spare time?
Adrienne: Read, run away to the beach, and find tasty bakeries.
Finally we say goodbye and thank you to Miracle intern Gabriele. Originally from Dallas, Texas, Gabriele also found the Miracle through Reed College’s internship and employment services. An avid reader, writer and dancer Gabriele hopes to one day contribute to linguistic theories and to travel researching world languages. Although she loves all the vegan food and green areas in Portland she’s not much of a fan of the “unending rain.” So what did she enjoy most about her internship here at the Miracle? “Reading and reviewing plays.”  Gabriele will be missed in our offices but we wish her the best of luck in her studies and upcoming projects.
