Meet the cast of "Jardín de Sueños"

Rosa María Cristobal (Lena) es originaria de la Cd. de México y ahora residente en Portland desde hace varios años. Ha trabajado con la comunidad en diversas áreas. Desde el año 2006 ha participado de eventos culturales  en su comunidad de la iglesia, como  las pastorelas, siendo estas las que despertaron el gusto por el arte de la actuación. Agradezca a Dios por este regalo. Gracias Nelda por la oportunidad, gracias a todo el equipo del Miracle Theatre Group.

Rosa María Cristobal (Lena) is originally from Mexico City and has lived in Portland for several years. He has worked with the community in a variety of areas. Since 2006, she has participated in cultural activities in her church community, such as pastorelas, which are what awoke in her the desire to act. She thanks God for this gift. Thanks also to Nelda for the opportunity, and to the whole Miracle Theatre Group team.

CarlosAlexis Cruz (El Espíritu del Jardín) ha estado trabajando como actor profesional durante los últimos nueve años participando en Puerto Rico, el norte de California y Portland, y en giran en Nueva York a Los Ángeles, de la República Dominicana a México. A nivel local se ha presentado con Don’t Jump!, Imago, y Miracle Theatre Grouop. Como director teatral, hizo la producción de gira de El Último del Teatro Milagro y recientemente puso en escena el espectáculo A Suicide Note from a Cockroach ... en Imago, marcando el debut de su propia nueva compañía de teatro, Teatro Pelú. Recientemente, CarlosAlexis fue actor y director de Lazarillo para el Miracle Theatre Group además de su papel en Boleros for the Disenchanted.  CarlosAlexis tiene una Maestría en Teatro Fisico en Base de Conjunto de  Dell’Arte International School en California. Tiene una licenciatura en estudios de cine de la Escuela de Comunicación de la Universidad de Puerto Rico. Ha entrenado en las Artes del Circo en el San Francisco Circus Center. Su participación en esta obra es posible gracias a una beca de la Princess Grace Foundation.

CarlosAlexis Cruz (The Spirit of the Garden) has been working as a professional actor for the past 9 years performing from New York City to Los Angeles, from the Dominican Republic to Mexico. Locally he has performed with Do Jump!, Imago and Milagro. He directed Miracle’s touring production of El Último and recently staged the show A Suicide Note from a Cockroach… at Imago, marking the debut of his own new theatre company Pelú Theatre. CarlosAlexis was seen on Miracle’s stage in of Lazarillo, which he also directed. He also appeared in our last production of Boleros for the Disenchanted. He has an MFA degree in Ensemble Based Physical Theatre from the Dell’Arte International School, a BA degree in film studies from the School of Communication at the University of Puerto Rico, and has trained in Circus Arts at San Francisco Circus Center.  CarlosAlexis’ performance in this production is made possible by an award from the Princess Grace Foundation.

Gabriela Dipascuale (Lucía) nació en Buenos Aires, Argentina y ha estado expuesta a la vida del teatro desde que era niña a través de su mamá y hermana. Vive en Portland desde hace 13 años y estudia en Portland State University. Gabriela siempre tuvo curiosidad por el teatro y finalmente participó en una lectura dramatizada en el primavera del 2011 en Miracle Theatre Group, La casa de los espíritus. Jardin de Sueños es su primera producción y está muy agradecida por esta oportunidad maravillosa de trabajar con un equipo tan energético y talentoso. Gabriela dedica esta obra a sus amigos, sus padres Bibiana y Richard, a sus hermanos Pablo y Facundo, y especialmente a quien la inspiro a estar aquí, su hermana Billi.

Gabriela Dipascuale (Lucía) was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and has been exposed to the life of theatre since she was very young through her mom and sister. She has lived in Portland for 13 years and is currently working on her bachelor’s degree at Portland State University. Gabriela has always been curious about theatre and finally participated in a stage reading the spring of 2011 for Miracle Theatre Group, La casa de los espíritus. Jardin de Sueños is her first production and she is very thankful for this opportunity to work with such a talented and energetic team. Gabriela wants to dedicate this play to all of her friends, her parents Bibiana and Richard, her brothers Pablo and Facundo, and especially to who inspired her to be here on the first place, her sister Billi.

Mario López García (Huicho) es originaria de la Cd. de México y ahora residente en Portland desde hace varios años. Mario ha trabajado en la comunidad especialmente con los jóvenes como entrenador de futbol. También ha participado en varios eventos culturales en las escuelas del Distrito de Portland al igual que en la iglesia. En el año 2006, empezó su participación en las pastorelas motivando así su gusto por la actuación. Agradezca a Dios por este sueño. Gracias a Nelda y todo su equipo por la oportunidad.

Mario López García (Huicho) is originally from Mexico City and has lived in Portland for several years.  Mario has worked in the community, especially with young adults as a soccer coach. He has also participated in a variety of cultural events in the Portland School District as well as his church. In 2006, he began to participate in pastorelas, which led him to acting. He thanks God for this dream. Thanks to Nelda and the whole team for the opportunity.

Juan Antonio Martínez (Fabian) es originario de Veracruz, México. Recientemente trabajé en cortometrajes acerca de inmigración con Thoreau Productions en asociación con Zeling Films. También para el concurso de 100 horas con MABO Productions. He participado en talleres en el Miracle Theatre Group. Actualmente se encuentra trabajando como conductor en un programa local de Portland a través del Internet apoyando al talento latino. Quiere dedicar su trabajo a su querida familia y amigos.

Juan Antonio Martínez (Fabian) is originally from Veracruz, Mexico. He recently worked on short films about immigration with Thoreau Productions in association with Zeling Films. He also participated in a contest 100 Hours with MABO Productions. He has participated in Miracle Theatre Group workshops and currently can be found working as a host of an Internet program based in Portland that supports Latino talent. He wants to dedicate his performance to his dear friends and family.

Pablo Saldana (El Jaguar) se graduó recientemente con honores de la preparatoria Roosevelt High School y actualmente estudia actuación y música. Este es su debut en el Miracle Theatre y se siente muy emocionado de poder trabajar con un elenco y un equipo técnico tan maravilloso, y de poder ser parte de una historia asombrosa que comparte  la lucha de los estudiantes indocumentados a punto de comenzar sus estudios universitarios. Él quiere dar agradecimientos especiales a Jo y Derek Lane, sus primeros mentores en la actuación, Eleanor Siebert, Heidi Feight, y a toda su familia.  

Pablo Saldana (El Jaguar) recently graduated Roosevelt High School with high honors and is currently studying music and acting. This is his debut at Miracle Theatre Group and feels extremely excited to work with a wonderful cast and crew, and be a part of an astonishing story that shares the struggles undocumented students face when they are about to begin college. He wants to give special thanks to Jo and Derek Lane, his first acting mentors, Eleanor Siebert, Heidi Feight, and his whole family.

Siumara Samayoa (Cristina) es originaria de Chiapas, México.  A su corta edad nacé en ella un interés al arte y  la actuación.  A los 17 anos dió el primer paso al modelaje realizando 3 fashion shows y 2 cortometrajes.  Ahora tiene la oportunidad de hacer uno de sus sueños realidad que es actuar frente al público, participando en su primera obra de teatro Jardín de Sueños. Ella da las gracias a la directora Nelda Reyes por su confianza en dándole la gran oportunidad.

Siumara Samayoa (Cristina) is originally from Chiapas, Mexico. She has been interested in art and acting since an early age. At 17, she began modeling, appearing in three fashion shows and two short films. Now she has the opportunity to make her dreams of acting onstage a reality by participating in her first play, Jardín de Sueños. She thanks director Nelda Reyes for her confidence in giving her this great opportunity.
