Now that we know who's who in Oedipus el Rey, let's find out a little bit more about them, beginning with the cast ...

Enrique E. Andrade (Coro), originally from Mexico City, is a graduate of the University of Oregon with a double major in Spanish Literature and Philosophy, and a minor in Political Science. Enrique is well known for being the Spanish voice of the MAX and participates as a volunteer and board member of different community organizations.

Marco Garcia Ballaré (Laius) is thrilled to be in Portland to make his Miracle Theatre Group debut. Marco is a Pueblo de la Reina de Los Angeles native. He has had the fortune of working on television and films like Tengo Miedo. Marco’s theatre credits include: As You Like It, Take Me Out and Novio Boy. Marco is honored to be working with such an incredibly talented cast and crew and would like to thank his family, friends and his community back home and here for their wonderful encouragement, care and continued support as he ventures forth into the unknown.

José E. González (Tiresius) began his professional career with the Portland Civic Theatre in 1975. He received his BA from the University of Santa Clara and MFA in Scenic Design from UCLA. For five years he was the resident designer and technical director for the Harbor Playhouse in Corpus Christi, Texas. Ozzie has also performed locally as guest storyteller in Portland Story Theatre’s Valentine’s Show.

Anthony Green (Coro) came to Portland a little over three years ago specifically because of the city’s reputation for quality theatre. He has not been disappointed!  This is Tony’s third season working at Milagro. Previous roles here include Papi in How the García Girls Lost their Accents and Rocco Russo in Boomcracklefly. Tony has performed the past two years in Portland’s Fertile Ground Festival appearing in That Was The River. This Is The Sea and Love Scenes. In 2011, he went on a nationwide tour, performing assemblies at over 140 elementary and middle schools. He is currently teaching creative writing through improvisation with Curious Comedy.

Nick Ortega (Oedipus) was born and raised in Fresno, California before he moved south to attend and eventually graduate from UCLA’s Theater Film and Television Department.  He lives in Los Angeles while successfully and blessedly staying ever creative: acting, writing, directing, producing and most importantly, learning.  This show is dedicated to his “pack” for their limitless love, patience and support. Nick thanks Miracle Theatre Group for its open arms and opportunity in this first-timers Portland adventure.
