Meet summer intern Winnie Albright

Winnie comes to us from Willamette University where she is a junior pursuing a degree in Art History.  A Portland native, (yes, she’s one of those rare people actually born and raised in this lovely city), Winnie will be interning in the marketing department all summer long. We are excited to have her here and welcome her to the ever growing Milagro familia!

Had you ever attended any Miracle events?
I was lucky enough to see Oedipus el Rey during closing weekend. I’d read Oedipus Rex in high school, but seeing a modern adaptation of it performed on stage was incredible! I really enjoyed the cozy atmosphere of the theatre.

Why did you seek an internship position at the Miracle?
I applied for the internship position at Miracle because I was intrigued by the description — a small, local, nonprofit theatre. I hope to learn more about the marketing aspect of a nonprofit theatre. I’m really excited to help out at the Latino Artist eXchange. I’m still really new in the art world and I’d love to gain some experience!

What do you hope to do in the future?
Eeek! I’d like to apply my major in a unique setting. I’m still considering furthering my education beyond undergraduate because I love learning. If at all feasible, I would love to get a degree in Baking and Pastry and open a bakery.

Pet peeves?
If I had to name a pet peeve it would probably be slow walkers! Move out of the way!

Finally loves and/or hobbies?
My loves are often conflicting … I love fitness but I also love baking! I bake desserts almost every day. No joke.
