Dawn in the desert: Coyote begins his journey

The tales of the inmense desert are coming to Milagro this January with the bilingual touring production, Cuéntame Coyote. In the meantime, we will learn about  the Sonoran Desert, setting of key events in the story, and one of the largest  and hottest deserts in North America!

Did you now that in the vast region of  the Sonoran Desert, humans, animals, inspects and plants fight harsh conditions year round to grow and flourish? Home of more than  60 mammal species, 350 bird species, 20 amphibian species, over 100 reptile species,  over 1000 native bee species, more than 2000 native plant species and even 30 species of native fish[1] 

One of these species is the mammal known as "Coyote", which is also the name of one of the most important beings in some Native American traditions, known both as "the wise one" and an all-too-fallible trickster.
